The Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) is the largest municipal fire department in North America and the Western Hemisphere, as well as the second largest in the world after Tokyo. Responding to over 2.3 million calls for service annually.
The department includes 254 Fire and EMS stations, 197 Engines, 143 Ladders, 49 Battalions, 9 Divisions, 8 Squads, and 5 Rescues (along with plenty of other support units), and 450 Ambulances.
I’m pretty new to the software, and I tried to mirror the call volume after real-life. I had to tone it down due to the actual volume not being attainable; however, on 100%, it is still quite busy. Let me know if it needs tweaking. I highly recommend playing on 25%, 50%, or 75% if you’re new to the sim or solo, as it is quite overwhelming. This is best played in MP, where multiple players can cover each borough, etc.
I’d like to begin with this is a MAJOR WORK IN PROGRESS. So far, FDNY (Engines, Ladders, Battalions, Rescues, and Squads) is complete for all 5 boroughs. FDNY EMS is not yet complete, but transport units are available in all 5 boroughs. I have plotted some hospitals around, too, but plan to go more in-depth to represent their care level.
I plan to add many POIs in the future and include all the special units the FDNY and FDNY EMS have at their disposal.
Let me know if there are problems or if anything needs fixing or tweaking.
